Diary for the beginning stages of our filming:
Day 5 - 7th January 2014
Due to a lot of problems we had with the previous filming we did, it took us a while to get back into the routine of regular filming. After we had concluded that we were unable to get back the filming we had lost, we had to do some filming again. Poppy and I went to collect Lily (our main girl) to retake the parts she was in. Before Connor (our main boy) arrived, we were able to film the scenes with lily in the bath and the faded shot of lily. When Connor arrived, we filmed the scenes with Connor in the bath, his looking depressed while holding a bottle, drinking from it, head shots and so on. We were also able to film a bottle rolling on the floor in the bathroom. I did a lot of mise-en-scene work and lighting work while Poppy did the filming.
Filming Day 4 - 18th December 2013
Today Myself, Rebecca and Marie decided to re- film
some scenes that had been deleted due to a corrupt memory card. We had the
struggle of trying to retrieve these documents, we sent the memory card to a
company that specialize in data recovery. After waiting over a month we rang the company and see what was happening with our media
card. They stated that they had to send it to forensics in order to get access
to the data as it was corrupt and this would cost over £200. As we do not have
the budget for this we then began filming from the beginning again.
Today, we re-filmed the clock and the phone. We set up a table with a blanket, a boys bag that we borrowed from a student, a laptop, a phone, folders and other essentials that you would find on a boys bedside table. We then took some pictures of the set up and filmed with the lights off in the corridor and decided on who would be best to film, the other two would then send the texts to the phone on the table in the correct time to be filmed. It proved difficult to focus the camera on the phone as it is such a bright light so this took longer than anticipated, however, we managed to do it after making some adjustments to the screen brightness on the phone.
When filming the clock this was much easier as we left the camera on the tripod and filmed it at 12 o'clock for one minute then again at 3, 6 and 9 o clock for a minute, we used a torch spotlight on Becky's phone to give it a dark shadowy effect and unintentionally the clock swayed, this accident worked to our advantage as we were then able to create a creepier effect. We then filmed it close up and further away so that when we edit it we can show the clock from different angles. Myself, Marie and Becky all attempted to film we decided to then speed up the clock moving through the times so that it symbolizes that a lot of time has passed, and that Connor's drinking is a repetitive viscous cycle.

Today,
we were able to get our main girl to come and do some filming for us. Me, Poppy
and Becky first set up the bathroom with the lights the start filming the
scenes with our main girl in the bath. I controlled the lighting by placing the
lamp outside the door and closing the door to so that only some of the light
shone through; this created a better atmosphere. We dressed our model up in
white for purity and innocence and did her hair and make-up naturally so that
it doesn’t look too staged. We then placed her in the bath and took a lot of
pictures of how we set up and the filming. Once we did enough different shots,
we got our girl out of the bath and decided to film another scene of Lilly
against a white wall with her hair wet to make it look mysterious. We moved the
camera in different angles ranging from close up shots to long shots I order to
get the effect of her fading away which we will then edit by adding a blur to
illustrate how our male model is losing her.
2nd filming - 20th November 2013
For our filming today, we tried to get our main girl to do some filming for us, but she was unable to come. Therefore, we had to film other parts of our video that we did not need a model for. Me, Poppy and Becky started to film the scene with the phone in the dark room receiving messages from his mum saying ‘I’m worried about you’ and then a message from a friend saying ‘you coming out tonight? Bring drink!’ We also took practice shots with the coloured gels and lighting to see what kind of mood the lights would set. We used Becky as our model to see how the effect would work and where to position the camera to make it work the most. This was good practice for our next filming session with our model as we will be prepared to film.
Day 1 - 6th November 2013

Day 3 of filming - 27th November 2013

Day 1 - 6th November 2013
Today, we decided to do our filming
that involved our main girl running down a corridor for the beginning part of
our video. Poppy, Marie and I picked up our main girl and went to Bluewater to
ask for permission to film in their fire exit hallways. We went to the
concierge desk to ask for permission and they said we had to go to the
management suit to ask for their permission which we did. Unfortunately, they
did not allow us to film our video where we wanted to so we decided to do our
filming outside in the car park. We realised that this would be the best place
to do it as it makes it look spooky like we wanted it to. We asked our main
girl, Lily, to run down the middle of the road while me and Poppy filmed her
from different angles. We had cars behind her to look as if she was being chased, this worked well as we made Lilly turn around while running as if looking behind her to see if someone was still following her.
