Filming
the bottle in the swimming pool.
We chose to use the swimming pool as the song itself is called ‘Swimming Pools’ and we have already used a bath as a main feature therefore the swimming pool would fit into the music video successfully as something similar has already been used and it relates to the song title.
We chose to film a beer bottle in the pool as it is clearly empty as Connor has drunk it all and the fact it has fallen into the pool shows how bottles are clearly littered everywhere.
The visual aspect of the bottle falling into the pool and floating is successful as it appears calm yet the message it represents is fitting with the distressed, depressed tone of the video.

This shot shows the bottle being thrown in the pool, this was to try and capture the splash it makes as we use a similar effect with the water in the bath scenes when our models quickly come up from underwater and grab the side of the bath splashing the water visually.
We decided to try and capture the bottle creating a visual physical effect on the water as it represents the physical effect the bottle has had on Connor.
This shot would look better in slow motion however it looks to forced as you see us throwing it in, it would look better if it rolled in as if by accident.
This shot shows the bottle floating on the surface side on, this shows the label to highlight the fact it is an alcohol bottle. The bottle starts bobbing up and down and then starts to sink as it fills with water this gives the shot a different angle without us physically moving it ourselves, this makes it seem accidental and not forced at all which suits our music video better than us throwing the bottle into the water.
This is a shot of me pushing the bottle into the pool as it rolls of the side, this shot is successful as we will cut it when my hand comes out of shot which means we see it roll into the pool as if by accident. I then changed the camera angle to follow the bottle and show it floating on the water.
This is the most successful shot of the pool as it doesn't look to forced and controlled which means it will fit well with our music video. The visual aspect of it relates to our music video as the alcohol bottle is featured and so is the water which is a main part of the song's title and lyrics.
