Re-shooting Connor.

Re-shooting Connor for the lyrics 'Headshot

We had to re-shoot a shot of just Connors face for when the lyrics say ‘headshot’ in the chorus as this was a repeated sequence that would feature throughout the song therefore the footage had to be successful. We chose to re-film this specific footage as the original looked like Connor was smiling which doesn’t fit the tone and mood of our video therefore the new footage had to show Connor looking depressed and quite lonely.

When re-filming this scene I had to hold a thick cover over the door frame as there was no door for us to close to make the room darker. We also covered the windows which meant it was quite dark which is what we needed.

We had Connor sitting on the floor again but this time he was wearing a black shirt which shows that its another day as he is wearing a white shirt in the scene it will go after in the music video. We chose to do black and white as it represents good and bad as he is turning bad due to his drinking problem. Black also represents depression and darkness which relates to our tone and mood perfectly.

In this scene Connor is looking left and right and down at his hands rather than at the camera this is to show the audience he is hiding his feelings which is one of the reasons for his drinking. We have the camera positioned head on while Connor is sat at a slight angle, this is so that it stands out when changing from each shot as it is placed in a scene which involves Connor being head on. This just shows a variety of angles and shots which stand out from one another.

I tried to film Connor using a panning shot however the location wasn’t successful as there was gym equipment filling the room which ruined the shot as they were sometimes visible. There was also a mirror on the wall which meant i was shown filming him in the reflection, this was unsuccessful as it looked very unprofessional.

I was trying to use a panning shot as it would be visibly successful as it would illustrate how his head is spinning as things are going round and round in his head, the angle and shot would then represent that as it would be physically moving to represent his mental state.

We tried finding another location to do this shot, however, no room was dark or bare enough. We couldn’t use our previous empty room as I had moved house therefore there was nowhere for this shot to be completed so we improvised and kept the camera still.
